Leaving from the shop in Fisherman’s Warf, bike around the nearest attractions: Pier 39, The Anchorage, the Cannery, Ghirardelli Square (the famous chocolate factory) and enjoy passing the other bikers pushing their regular bike up your first hill.

Admire the view of the Golden Gate Bridge and of Fort Mason, , a former military post that you can visit, and bike through Marina Green (74-acre expanse of grass), listen to the tide’s echoes at the Wave Organ and take a picture at the Palace of Fine Arts, (built in 1915 and now housing the Exploratorium: a science museum).

Ride along the beach side all the way under the Bridge until you discover Fort Point, (a fort built before the Civil War), where you might also see some surfers.

Venture across the Golden Gate Bridge, and pause at Vista Point to admire the San Francisco Cityscape,  the East Bay’s crisp blue water,  Alcatraz, Angel Island and Marin County .

Learn about science and environment at the Discovery Museum, and head up Conzelman Road through the wild landscape of Marin Headlands.

Visit Point Bonitas Lighthouse, (built in 1855 to mark the entrance of San Francisco Bay for sailors) and dip your toes into the dark sand of Rodeo Beach.
